Vida restaurant entrance and hostess stand in Thornwood, Westchester County

Our Story

Born from Passion.Built for the Table.

The Beginning

From Augustine's to Vida

Before Vida, there was Augustine's Salumeria — Marc and Brianne Taxiera's beloved neighborhood Italian market in Thornwood. Augustine's earned a devoted following for its house-made pastas, cured meats, and warm, community-first approach.

But Marc had a deeper culinary dream: to bring the bold, vibrant flavors of Spain to Westchester County in a setting that felt both elevated and deeply welcoming. In 2024, just minutes from White Plains and Pleasantville, that dream became Vida.

Named after the Spanish word for "life," Vida is built around everything that makes a great meal more than just dinner — the kitchen, the cellar, the people at the table.
